post cards

back when I was young and foolish i printed 16×20 photographs and cut them up and mailed them out as post cards to friends. sometimes they’d arrive, sometimes those of irregular size and shape would be shredded returned so I’d repackage them to be forwarded to their destination. those shredded cards were works of art.

mr boot would bring me the random post card from the campground at dead sheep creek, or being sent from Mars with cuniform, a secret code or random gibberish, and it probably didn’t phase him, he’d delivered post cards for 30 years. I used to keep one of these cards on the fridge. it was like the random call I saved on the answering machine. maybe someday I’d figure out who sent it to me.

do someone a favor in these interesting times. instead of an email take something you made and stick a stamp and address on it and send it to someone who would least expect it.

seize the day!

I am a Freelance Photographer in Rhode Island. I make photographs using a variety of methods with and without a camera, and I teach photography online and in person. I make photo emulsions from scratch, I coat my own photo paper and make cyanotypes too. I am a huge fan of Caffenol ( I helped write the Caffenol Cookbook ) and instead of instant coffee, I roast my own Sumatra Robusta beans. I sell them so you can make your own long lasting, film and print developer called Sumatranol. I also sell silver recovery products.
